\u2013 Held on Sunday, Mar 4, 2012"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Results of Biblical Quotes Survey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you read Session 19 <a href=\"http:\/\/rjr.richardross.annaerossi.com\/?p=387\">http:\/\/rjr.richardross.annaerossi.com\/?p=387<\/a>\u00a0 and scroll down to the <strong>Biblical Quotes <\/strong>section,\u00a0you can review the five quotes from Scripture that were the basis of our group&#8217;s exercise.\u00a0 People regularly quote the scripture often to bolster their argument.\u00a0 But they often are not conscious of the fact that the scripture develops over time.\u00a0 And because there is development previous passages acquire new meaning in light of that development.\u00a0 Our group performed an exercise which I asked you to do as well.\u00a0 Read each of the five quotes and rank them according to how you would evaluate their more or less adequate expression of what a Christian should understand the chart, the first column lists the quotes in the order that they appear, the first row lists rankings from 1, most expressive, to 5, least expressive.\u00a0 So in our group, for example,<\/p>\n<ol start=\"1\">\n<li>Two persons selected the first quote \u201cYou shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal.\u201d \u2013 Ex. 20:14 &#8211; 15 as most expressive and one as least expressive.<\/li>\n<li>Two other examples: twelve members selected the third quote \u201cDo not show pity. Life for life, eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, and foot for foot!\u201d \u2013 Dt. 19:21 as least expressive<\/li>\n<li>While eight members selected the fifth quote, \u201cThen the king will say to those on his right, \u2018Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me, naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.\u2019 Then the righteous\u00a0will answer him and say, \u2018Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
